Suspension systems have a significant impact on the handling characteristics of a vehicle and thus essentially determine its character. The suspensions are designed to achieve a good balance between grip, driving comfort, handling safety, load changes and axle movement. Advanced suspension systems provide a better balance between them, but they do not eliminate collisions. Their growing importance is reflected in the greater value that ever-demanding customers attribute to driving and comfort. Now that the capabilities of conventional passive systems are depleted to a great extent, adaptive and active systems open up new possibilities such as: depressing the scrolling and sliding movements, handling and driving height regardless of load, handling characteristics and driving height customizable to the status and customer. The Active Roll Stabilization (ARS) is an active suspension system designed to reduce the scroll of the body during cornering. The system uses sensors on the vehicle to determine when the body deflection occurs and adjusts the hydraulic rotary actuators on the scroll bars to compensate for the overturning. The system can adjust both the front and rear wheel protection bars, resulting in increased driver confidence and increased driving comfort.
