The purpose of this study is to explore the current state of wine tourism in the
Regional Unity of Kavala from winemakers’ “perspective”. More specifically, the aim
of this Thesis is to highlight the strengths and pinpoint the inhibitory factors of ‘s the
development Kavalla as a wine tourism destination. At first, in order to comprehend
better conceptual definitions and to clarify the theoretical framework concerning wine
tourism, a literature review was carried out by collecting secondary data. Secondly, in
order to carry out the primary research, mainly qualitative and quantitative methods
were used. In particular, there was direct communication with winemakers and indepth interviews; furthermore, a structured questionnaire was mailed to the total
number of wineries in the research area. In conclusion, it can be asserted that the
development of wine tourism in the Regional Unity of Kavala is at an incipient stage.
However, winemakers seem to be optimistic about this special form of tourism and
believe that efforts can be made to further develop it. On the other hand they
emphasize the fact that there is no particular co-operation between winemakers in
order to promote the region, but they also mark the strengths of the geographical
location, the climate and the conditions that the region meets for the cultivation of
vineyard

| Abstract: | Σκοπός της παρούσας διατριβής είναι η αποτύπωση της υφιστάμενης κατάστασης του
οινοτουρισμού στην Περιφερειακή Ενότητα της Καβάλας και πως αυτή διαφαίνεται
από την οπτική των οινοπαραγωγών. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, στόχος της διατριβής είναι η
ανάδειξη των δυνατών σημείων και η διερεύνηση των ανασταλτικών παραγόντων της
ανάπτυξης της Καβάλας ως οινοτουριστικός προορισμός.
Στα πρώτα στάδια της έρευνας, για την καλύτερη κατανόηση των εννοιολογικών
ορισμών και την αποσαφήνιση περισσότερο του θεωρητικού υπόβαθρου που αφορά
τον οινοτουρισμό πραγματοποιήθηκε βιβλιογραφική ανασκόπηση επί του θέματος, με
τη συλλογή δευτερογενών στοιχείων. Εν συνεχεία, για την υλοποίηση της
πρωτογενούς έρευνας χρησιμοποιήθηκαν κυρίως ποιοτικές μέθοδοι, αλλά και
ποσοτικές. Ειδικότερα, υπήρξε άμεση επικοινωνία με τους οινοπαραγωγούς και
διεξήχθησαν συνεντεύξεις σε βάθος, με παράλληλη συμμετοχή αυτών σε έρευνα με
δομημένο ερωτηματολόγιο, το οποίο εστάλη με τη βοήθεια ηλεκτρονικού
ταχυδρομείου.
Συμπερασματικά, μετά το πέρας της παρούσας έρευνας, διαπιστώθηκε ότι η ανάπτυξη
του οινοτουρισμού στην Περιφερειακή Ενότητα της Καβάλας βρίσκεται σε
πρωταρχικό στάδιο. Ωστόσο, οι οινοπαραγωγοί φαίνονται να είναι αισιόδοξοι σχετικά
με το μέλλον του και θεωρούν ότι μπορούν να γίνουν προσπάθειες προς αυτή την
κατεύθυνση. Από την άλλη, οι οινοπαραγωγοί τονίζουν την απουσία επαρκούς
συνεργασίας μεταξύ των επιχειρηματιών για την ανάδειξη της περιοχής,
χαρακτηρίζοντας, ωστόσο, ως δυνατά σημεία τη γεωγραφική θέση, το κλίμα και τις
