The use of Student Information Systems (SIS) to strengthen school administration and manage student performance in education has received increased attention over recent years. As SIS become more integrated business tools in schools, many school districts must make decisions on the extent to which SIS affects pupils' achievements and the adoption of the most appropriate SIS. Although many school regions apply student information systems (SIS), there is little empirical evidence on whether the use of SIS can improve student performance. This article seeks to contribute to a clear understanding of the effectiveness of SIS in the context of education. It examines the effectiveness of a particular SIS - eBASI - in the performance of pupils in Preveza schools.

| Abstract: | Η χρήση των Συστημάτων Διαχείρισης Μαθητών (SIS) για την ενίσχυση της σχολικής διοίκησης και τη διαχείριση των επιδόσεων των σπουδαστών στην εκπαίδευση έχει λάβει αυξημένη προσοχή τα τελευταία χρόνια. Καθώς τα SIS γίνονται πιο ολοκληρωμένα επιχειρησιακά εργαλεία στα σχολεία, πολλές σχολικές περιφέρειες πρέπει να λαμβάνουν αποφάσεις σχετικά με το βαθμό στον οποίο το SIS επηρεάζει τα επιτεύγματα των μαθητών και την υιοθέτηση του πλέον κατάλληλου SIS. Παρόλο που πολλές σχολικές περιφέρειες εφαρμόζουν συστήματα φοιτητικών πληροφοριών (SIS), υπάρχουν λίγα εμπειρικά στοιχεία για το αν η χρήση του SIS μπορεί να βελτιώσει την απόδοση των σπουδαστών. Το άρθρο αυτό επιδιώκει να συμβάλει στην σαφή κατανόηση της αποτελεσματικότητας του SIS στο πλαίσιο της εκπαίδευσης. Εξετάζει την αποτελεσματικότητα ενός συγκεκριμένου SIS - eΒΑΣΗ – στην απόδοση των μαθητών στα σχολεία της Πρέβεζας.
