This paper entitled “Attitudes and Views of Secondary Education Teachers of Thessaloniki to introduce and apply innovative programs-The case of Thematic Week”. In particular, the thematic week is an innovation introduced to high school in the school year 2016-2017, with mixed feelings from teachers. The aim of our research is to capture these feelings and opinions, so that we can see how they have handled this innovation. Also, another target of this examination is if the design of the thematic week eventually achieved its goal of informing and raising the awareness of the educational community on issues concerning teenagers with innovative methods. The theoretical approach to the subject presented the concepts of change and innovation. Furthermore, the types of educational innovation as well as the conditions of its introduction and the models of design and application of innovation were presented in this subject, as well. The factors influencing the success or failure of innovation, as well as models for designing and applying innovation, were analyzed. Finally, the role of the school counselor, school leader, teachers, pupils and their parents in the implementation of innovation, were presented.
