Ασύρματο δίκτυο αισθητήρων (WSN) που επικοινωνούν με το πρωτόκολλο ZigBee (Bachelor thesis)

This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of communication protocols and wireless sensor
networks.
Wireless Local Area Networks provide easy interconnection of digital devices placed in close
proximity to each other. Communication between these devices is achieved through various
communication protocols. These are Bluetooth, WiFi, and the protocol we will analyze more
extensively, ZigBee. ZigBee was chosen based on the advantages it has in relation to the other
corresponding technologies. Some of these criteria include low consumption, flexible and
scalable network, network security, etc.
A wireless sensor network consists of at least one sensor connected to the communication
module and a central processor that receives the sensor measurements. The sensors we can
use vary according to our needs.
Such a network of sensors can be found in many industrial applications and in consumer
applications since the Internet of Things (IoT) gets more and more into our lives.
In the research section, we are working on creating a ZigBee network where communication
is achieved through the Texas Instruments module ez430-rf2500. By connecting a HIH8121
sensor to the network, we receive humidity and temperature measurements and display them
on our computer screen
