Πιλοτική μελέτη της επίδρασης προγράμματος αποκατάστασης βασισμένου στην ΙδιοδέκτριαΝευρομυϊκή Διευκόλυνση (PNF-based) στα επίπεδα εύρους κίνησης, δύναμης, ισορροπίας και πόνου, σε ασθενείς μετά από Ολική Αρθροπλαστική Γόνατος (Bachelor thesis)

Purpose: The purpose of this clinical study is to determine the influence of a pnf-based program in the levels of pain, strength, balance and range of motion, after total knee arthroplasty.
Methodology: It is a pilot study designed in the form of a greater clinical assessment, following the same methodology.
Sample: The sample is composed by 9 patients (N=9) who underwent Total Knee Arthroplasty in the Orthopedic Clinic of G.H. “G. Papanikolaou” of Thessaloniki.
Results: Data shown significant statistical (positive) differences for the pnf-based group as for the pain, strength and range of motion. There were no significant differences as for the balance.
Conclusion: Patients who followed the pnf-based program of rehabilitation, had less pain, greater range of motion and strength, in contrast with the patients who followed hospital’s random program of rehabilitation. A bigger sample of patients is needed, to make this study more reliable and representative.
