ABSTRACT Introduction : In order to manage diabetes regardless of the medication and of the applied practices, very important role has the education and the monitoring of the patients. Goal of this study is the investigation of the effect of the systematic monitoring of the patients with diabetes mellitus from a specialized nurse on the ability to self care and to the glycemic check. Material-Method: In this study took part 70 patients with diabetes mellitus type 2. They were systematically monitored and educated in the Health Center of N.Michaniona. The research took place from March until June of 2018. The evaluation of the education was done by the questionnaire Diabetes Knowledge Questionnaire (DKQ) and about the quality of life the WHOQOL-BREF and the monitoring by monthly pages of phone communication. Results: The education seemed to be efficient from the answers of the patients concerning their knowledge about eating habits, physical exercise, treatment, the complications and the measures of prevention of the complications. Statistically, important was the relationship between the body weight, the value of glucose and the of HbA1 beforeand after the education, although statistically important was also the percentages about the quality of life of the patients before and after the education. From the monthly recordings was discovered that on the recording after the educational intervention the percentages were importantly higher from the two next recordings Conclusions: The systematic monitoring and the educational intervention seem to have important effect on the compliance of the patients with diabetes mellitus type 2. The educational interventions correlate with the quality of life of the patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 in the community.
