Η νέα γενιά προγραμμάτων διαχείρισης καταλόγων βιβλιοθηκών (discovery tools) (Bachelor thesis)

Discovery tools appeared in the recent years to bridge the gap between the tranditional library catalog and the users. It also acquires a unified interface that is able to manage the whole library collection, both print and on-line. There was a radical spread and adoption of the “dt” from the libraries due to the fact that they are user-friendly and quite simple to use. Nowadays, there are plenty of studies to measure the users’ satisfaction (stuff and user); therefore we were able to gather information for presentation and evaluation of the tools and also some developments for the future. Furthermore there is a reference to the basic characteristics and technical issues of the tools. Lastly we refer to which training the stuff and users should follow.

| Abstract: | Τα εργαλεία έρευνας εμφανίστηκαν τα τελευταία χρόνια για να καλύψουν το κενό που δημιουργήθηκε στον παραδοσιακό κατάλογο και προσφέρει ένα ολοκληρωμένο σύστημα διαχείρισης του υλικού της βιβλιοθήκης, έντυπο και μη. Η διάδοση και υιοθέτησή τους από τις βιβλιοθήκες είναι ραγδαία καθώς είναι φιλικά προς τους χρήστες και εύκολα στη χρήση τους. Πλήθος ερευνών για την ικανοποίηση χρηστών και βιβλιοθηκονόμων μας δίνει την δυνατότητα παρουσίασης και σύγκρισης των δημοφιλέστερων εργαλείων καθώς και εξελίξεις που αναμένονται στο μέλλον. Γίνεται αναφορά στα βασικά χαρακτηριστικά και σε κάποια τεχνικά στοιχεία των εργαλείων και εκπαίδευση η οποία απαιτείται τόσο από τους χρήστες όσο και από τους βιβλιοθηκονόμους.
