Discovery tools appeared in the recent years to bridge the gap between the tranditional library catalog and the users. It also acquires a unified interface that is able to manage the whole library collection, both print and on-line. There was a radical spread and adoption of the “dt” from the libraries due to the fact that they are user-friendly and quite simple to use. Nowadays, there are plenty of studies to measure the users’ satisfaction (stuff and user); therefore we were able to gather information for presentation and evaluation of the tools and also some developments for the future. Furthermore there is a reference to the basic characteristics and technical issues of the tools. Lastly we refer to which training the stuff and users should follow.
