The present study forms a drug user guide and reviews the (international) literature and research that exist in the area of Midwifery Care. The aim of the study is to identify the role of midwife, with regard to proper medication management, wherever it becomes part of Midwifery health care. A thorough presentation is given, of the safe and non-safe drugs, at all levels/stages of daily practice, including pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and newborn care.  It does not analyze the chapter regarding gynecological care, because of the area covered by this resolution. The paper is organized into eight chapters. In the first chapter, a general introduction of pharmacology is given. The chapter draws on the terminology and functions of drugs, the fundamental tools that underpin the understanding of the study. The second chapter discusses the role of midwifery and third chapter refers to the international drug classification in pregnancy. The following five chapters explore the mode of action of drugs, which differs not only in each of the above-mentioned stages, but also in each human body. The purpose is also to highlight any risks of the drugs to the pregnant woman, the mother, the fetus and the neonate as well. The last chapter of the paper provides an indicative guide of drugs, which is used by the General Hospital Papageorgioy in Thessaloniki, in the departments of Midwifery Care (Obstetrics/ Gynaecology department, Delivery rooms, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (N.I.C.U.)).
