Thessaloniki, Greece, pp. 1–53. Intake of nutrients at the required percentages is of utmost importance in daily bird feeding, as nutrients aid in the birds’ ability to lay eggs. Should there be a nutrient deficiency in the birds’ diet, the egg production output might be insufficient, quality of the egg shells decrease and it could also lead to higher bird mortality. Thus, a bird’s diet must cover the necessary percentages of energy requirements. As described in detail in the main part of this thesis, these percentages are met by the intake of many different feeds, such as corn and wheat. Moreover, birds need vitamins and fats in order to obtain the desirable egg production results. Regarding the types of poultry which is the most productive, that is the Leghorn type. Furthermore, other than the nutritional requirements of poultry, we also examine the diet and nutrients required for egg production by turkeys. Also, we study the diet of ducks and geese, as well as guinea fowls. Then, we discuss the diet of pigeons and pheasants. Last but not least, we examine the diet of quails and ostriches. After presenting the nutritional requirements of these birds, we reach certain conclusions, stemming from our systemic engagement into the object of study
