Credit Rating Agencies and the Greek Crisis (Bachelor thesis)

The purpose of this paper is to present the problem of the financial crisis, both the global and the Greek, and the involvement of credit rating agencies in it. For this reason, it is conducted an analysis of the problem of the financial crisis at an European and at a global level, and at the same time the agents, as well as the risk measurement of a country facing debt crisis, are being presented. Then we define the concept of the credit rating agency and the largest-most popular houses assessment, and we present a relevant throwback. Finally, operating methods and their impact on economically rating a country are being referred. In conclusion, we present the involvement - participation and the transparency existing in the rating agencies on the global financial crisis, part of which is the problem of the Greek debt crisis. Finally it is investigated whether there is a solution and a way out of this problem.
