The purpose of this thesis work is to develop and build a web application that allows the user to register and search for offers and to purchase various products directly from the merchant easily and quickly with safety. Specifically, merchants are able to register, present and promote their businesses and their products to potential consumers in the form of offers. The application lets buyers check for an existing offer through advanced search using filters on the product they are interested in. Also they can request a product with specific features in the form of a demand. There is the option of creating online auctions where each user can request/give a product within a specific time frame and buy/sell it with the best combination of price and quantity offered by the bidders. Additionally, the application was built on Laravel framework and is based on the MySQL database. It has security assurance that is an essential requirement because the framework, the application and system administrators through the administration panel check the data that is going to be published or stored. The application has the feature of high-volume hosting capacity of data. To provide this, Redis is used for better performance in data retrieval, protection and restore if an error occurs. Lastly, considering the target audience, the user interface was designed to be user-friendly and easy to use for so the users can enter the e-commerce world. In order to ensure future expansion and adaption to technological developments, the application is fully customizable and modular.
