This thesis initially contains an acquaintance with the new cataloging model called Resource Description and Access (RDA), which was set up a few years ago and is widely used in America and other developed countries, as well as its rules, but also how it is practically applied. In particular, interest is focused on the libraries of Greece. There is an in-depth reference on the ways it’s being developed, the procedures that are followed for implementation, and the implementation steps that Greek libraries must go through to use the standard with the best and safest possible way. Also, a part of the work will be devoted to the process of adopting and applying this model by libraries from other countries that have developed it, the methodology followed and the problems they have encountered. Following the above, there are the results of an investigation that has been conducted to study whether and to what extent Greek librarians know and use this model. The survey consists of a questionnaire of 15 questions, which has been sent electronically to librarians of academic libraries across Greece and invites recipients to answer whether they know the RDA standard, if they use it, how happy they are with it, and perhaps suggest some improvements in case they have some objections or problems regarding its operation
