The full-time elementary school has been operating in Greece, even as an expanded school, since 1998. It was presented as a new institution for Greek educational data and, having gone on a fairly long course, seems to have been consolidated in the educational system despite the initial reservations. The time span of its operation now gives us the opportunity to look at both the theoretical and the research level of some of its structural and functional parameters. The criticisms often made about its operation are mainly focused on issues related to its educational work and its effectiveness in relation to the overall work of the school unit. These inconveniences burden the general picture of the institution and make it imperative for an in-depth field research with the main aim of contributing to the completion of the institution. The present study, which from the thematic point of view is in the field of educational policy and from methodological view to qualitative social research, focused on issues related to scheduling / planning, decision making processes, the detection of the relative autonomy of the employees, their activation for the implementation of innovative actions and the fields of exercising the internal educational policy. In other words, in this study there was an attempt to identify with the help of the theoretical framework and the answers of the teachers, who work in the day-long programs, key elements that give or remove the possibility for teachers to participate in the scheduling / planning process of the educational policy of the school unit to which they belong. The results have shown that employees have understood that the success of a full-time school is directly related to the role of teachers and their involvement in the planning and implementation of the education policy. They are components that help the organization of the school as a whole, in a different way, with particular emphasis on issues of cooperation, participation, collectivity and action (Mavrogiorgos, 1999).
