Ο θεατρικός αυτοσχεδιασμός ως εργαλείο αξιολόγησης (Master thesis)

Τσάκου, Δήμητρα

The main objective of the present work is to present a significant innovation in the field of Management and Human Resource Management using theatrical improvisation as an assessment tool. In order to achieve this goal, an experiment was carried out in a research sample, with students of the Department of Tourism Management and Hospitality Management, of the School of Administration and Economics of the Alexandrio TEI of Thessaloniki. The main structure of the experiment was, on the one hand, the completion of an individual emotional intelligence questionnaire and, on the other, the participation of the sample in the incarnation of various case studies related to basic management problems, according to the theatrical improvisation techniques. The final stage of the experiment is the recording, comparison and evaluation of the individual results, in order to prove the decisive contribution of the art of theatrical improvisation to the evaluation process. The first chapter attempts, first of all, a scientific record of the evolutionary course of the art of theatrical improvisation, through the main stages of theatrical history, starting from the aesthetic forms of theater up until the modern era of postmodernism. Then, the management's historical evolution is approached, through its major stations, the basic functions of the Administration, as well as the basic Leadership styles. Following is the definition of Human Resources Management and the focus on staff assessment, deepening the prevailing assessment factors and methods, while the chapter concludes with the formulation of research questions and job assumptions. In the second chapter we study the research methodology, starting with a recording of the main types of research and concluding the thorough analysis of the experiment, which is the basic methodology of the present work. Consequently is described in detail the manner in which the experiment was conducted, the analysation of the sample, the scenarios (the case studies) that were drafted in detail, and, finally, the way in which the emotional intelligence questionnaire was synthesized. Then, the concept of Emotional Intelligence is approached, as well as the prevailing models that characterize it, which are specifically mentioned (Salovey-Mayer, Goleman, Bar-On). The third chapter includes the detailed presentation and recording of the results of both strands of the research process, the questionnaire and the improvisation and then the comparative study between them. First, a general overview of the behavior of the sample in the experiment is presented, and then five detailed cases are analyzed , each of which forms an overall behavioral profile based on the survey data, and attempts are made to approach the work skills and tendencies of each individual. Finally, the fourth chapter attempts an overall evaluation of the results, in which the whole research project is considered to be successful and outlines the ultimate goals and benefits of a permanent and effective use of theatrical improvisation as an evaluation tool.
