The present thesis was accomplished for the postgraduate program “Master of Science in Management & Organization of Educational Units” of the Business Administration Department of Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki. The subject of this thesis is the development of a marketing plan for the establishment of a nursery school in Ierapetra, Crete. First of all this master thesis analyzes the theoretical marketing background and specifically elaborates school marketing through a historical review of the concept of marketing. Further down it proceeds to a research which has already been realized. In addition, it refers to the marketing mix and later proceeds to the design of a completed marketing plan for the establishment of a nursery school. In conclusion, the results of this research reveal that the opening of a nursery school can be considered risky step. Although, with a thorough planning and marketing, the local community may support it as to become profitable.
