ABSTRACT PURPOSE: To know whether age and occupation are related to skin irradiation. METHODOLOGY: The survey was carried out with the creation and distribution of a questionnaire drawn up for its purposes and distributed between October and December 2018 to 200 men, Kalymnos and Edessa, whose profession brings them into contact with the sun, so are more likely to have sun damage to their skin. The sample was divided into two groups: Group A men living and working in Kalymnos and Group B men living and working in Edessa. The annexes to this paper provide the questionnaire used to collect the sample data. The results were statistically tested using the SPSS 2.0 programs, with descriptive frequency and Crosstabulation. RESULTS: The results of our research show that in both sample groups there is no compliance with the use of sunscreen during work or regular dermatologist visit to examine any skin lesions in time, especially in the age groups between 40-50 and 50-60 years old in the occupations of the builder and the farmer. CONCLUSIONS: The age groups 40-50 and 50-60 years do not follow the International Recommendations on skin protection from the effects of the sun. In our research it also appears that "BUILDINGS" and "AGROTES", although their work is directly related to the sun, are those who are not protected and do not regularly go to a dermatologist to examine their skin.
