Εφαρμογές του Jena API στον σημασιολογικό ιστό (Master thesis)
Βελώνης, Γεώργιος
Jena is an open source Java framework for creating Semantic Web applications. It has
the ability to process RDF data and supports SPARQL language, which allows querying
RDF triples repositories.
The main objective of this thesis is to create educational content (tutorials) and pilot
applications for the Jena API. Initially, for this purpose the Greek version of three main
educational websites of Jena ("An Introduction to RDF and the Jena RDF API", "SPARQL
Tutorial" and "Ontology API") was built and in addition a guide to install and use Jena
through the NetBeans IDE was created. Finally, based on the contents of the first two
tutorials and two integrated Java applications were built for the construction of RDF graphs
and querying SPARQL on them.
The study of tutorials and produced applications, highlights the capabilities and
benefits of Jena API and makes it more accessible to the Greek Semantic Web application
developers..
Jena API is really a powerful tool in the hands of the developer, for the rapid and
successful development of Semantic Web applications.
