Greece, as a crossroads of different cultures and a host country of large migratory flows from the Middle East as well as African countries, coupled with the signing of the Dublin II Agreement, is nowadays called upon to deal with the huge human tragedy and, on the other hand, multicultural society, in the spirit of democracy, human rights and respect for diversity. The educational policy of Greece in the context of multiculturalism is a demand that has been marked by strong changes in recent years. Despite the legislative reforms on intercultural education, which aim at learning more languages, as this is an advantage, given that the culture of each country is unique, a variety of problems have not been effectively addressed, initially inherited by immigrants themselves and their cultural diversity. Although intercultural education is criticized by those who regard the state's national cohesion as a prerequisite for education, it appears to be the most appropriate because it removes the marginalization and exclusion of foreigners, creates conditions for healthy integration, and provides the necessary skills for students to become active citizens with an emphasis on communication, with mutual understanding and acceptance. The redefinition of linguistic policy and the introduction of a new legal framework are considered to be critical parameters for the protection of individual forms of cultural wealth as expressed by a section of Greek citizens in a way that ensures the fair treatment of minorities without abusing the means available to them sovereign state of Greece. It is therefore necessary to examine the history of the social state and education policy and to put forward a social and educational model compatible with social justice, equality, solidarity, social inclusion, the transition to regularity and human dignity towards the causes of the economic crisis, war, refugee.
