Ο σχολικός εκφοβισμός στη Δευτεροβάθμια εκπαίδευση. Απόψεις και αντιλήψεις των εκπαιδευτικών της Πτολεμαϊδας. (Master thesis)

School bullying has been recognized as one of the most severe problems of school life, having a negative impact on students. It is the main aspect of many researches including investigations about its prevention and solution. The main goal of this research is to record school teachers' views on this problem, as they experience it in interaction with their students, and to collect specific data that can contribute to the better comprehension of the problem. In the first part of the research, attention is given to the definition of this phenomenon, its characteristics and in the different forms it may appear. Causes, consequences and how these affect the students are further described. In addition, results of similar surveys in Greece and abroad are referred and there is also an analysis of some non-punishing solutions of this aspect. The second part underlines some personal opinions of the school teachers of secondary education in Ptolemaida, Greece. After the statistical analysis of the survey, the following results came up: The school teachers believe that they're quite well informed about the topic, but they need to have some further information and education in the fields of prevention and solution. The different forms of school bullying include the verbal intimidation, as well as the isolation. Phenomena of body intimidation are more common in Junior High Schools than in Senior High Schools. The students-victims usually don't have the courage to openly talk about this problem with their school teachers, but their classmates discuss about it instead. As a conclusion, the school teachers believe that the phenomena of school bullying work as a mirror which reflects the problems, the arguments and the social conditions that occur in the family environment and in the society as a whole.
