Η τουριστική εκπαίδευση και κατάρτιση στην Ελλάδα. Ο βαθμός ικανοποίησης των αναγκών και προσδοκιών των σπουδαστών τουριστικής εκπαίδευσης στην Δυτική Ελλάδα (Master thesis)

The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the provision of education and training in the tourism sector in Greece. It also records the outline of the Greek education system by examining the role of the public and private sector that provides education and training in tourism in Greece as well as its comparison with other countries.
Given the importance of the view of the trainees in the tourism sector as to the quality of their education, it was considered interesting to record their views. In the present study a survey was made on the existing bibliography but also on a sample survey with questionnaires. In the survey participated trainees of tourism specialties from public and private schools in Western Greece, with the final sample reaching 160 trainees, who evaluated the provided quality of study of tourism specialties from the educational institutions of the studied geographic area.
The findings of the present study concerned the quality of studies, infrastructure, curriculum and teachers. Differentiation was observed among trainees studying in private education institutions in relation to those attending public education.
Moreover, the present study examines the degree of satisfaction of students in schools of tourism education as well as the future trends that may affect education and training in the tourism sector in Greece.

| Abstract: | Σκοπός της παρούσας εργασίας είναι να αξιολογήσει την παροχή εκπαίδευσης και κατάρτισης στον τομέα του τουρισμού στην Ελλάδα. Θα εξεταστούν πτυχές της τουριστικής εκπαίδευσης και κατάρτισης όπως η πρακτική άσκηση, οι γνώσεις ξένων γλωσσών και τα προγράμματα εξ αποστάσεως εκπαίδευσης και δια βίου μάθησης. Επίσης καταγράφεται το περίγραμμα του ελληνικού εκπαιδευτικού συστήματος εξετάζοντας το ρόλο του δημόσιου και του ιδιωτικού τομέα που παρέχει εκπαίδευση και κατάρτιση στον τουρισμό στην Ελλάδα όπως επίσης και η σύγκριση του με άλλες χώρες.
Με δεδομένη την σημασία της άποψης των εκπαιδευομένων στον τομέα του τουρισμού ως προς την ποιότητα εκπαίδευσης τους θεωρήθηκε ενδιαφέρον να καταγραφούν οι απόψεις τους. Στην παρούσα έρευνα έγινε μελέτη όσον αφορά την υπάρχουσα βιβλιογραφία αλλά και δειγματοληπτική έρευνα με ερωτηματολόγια. Στην έρευνα συμμετείχαν εκπαιδευόμενη τουριστικών ειδικοτήτων από δημόσια και ιδιωτικά εκπαιδευτήρια της Δυτικής Ελλάδας, με το τελικό δείγμα να φτάνει στους 160 εκπαιδευόμενους, οι οποίοι αξιολόγησαν την παρεχόμενη ποιότητα σπουδών των τουριστικών ειδικοτήτων από τα εκπαιδευτικά ιδρύματα του υπό μελέτη γεωγραφικού χώρου.
Τα πορίσματα δε που εκπορεύτηκαν από την παρούσα έρευνα, αφορούσαν την ποιότητα των σπουδών, των υποδομών, του προγράμματος σπουδών και των εκπαιδευτικών. Διαφοροποίηση παρατηρήθηκε και μεταξύ των εκπαιδευομένων που ακολουθούν τουριστικές σπουδές σε ιδιωτικά εκπαιδευτικά ιδρύματα σε σχέση με αυτούς που ακολουθούν δημόσιες σπουδές.
Επιπλέον, στην παρούσα έρευνα εξετάζεται ο βαθμός ικανοποίησης των σπουδαστών σχολών τουριστικής εκπαίδευσης αλλά και οι μελλοντικές τάσεις που ενδεχομένως θα επηρεάσουν την εκπαίδευση και κατάρτιση στον τομέα του τουρισμού στην Ελλάδα.
