Ο Ρόλος της Ηγεσίας στη Δευτεροβάθμια Επαγγελματική Εκπαίδευση (Master thesis)

Σωφρονίδου, Σοφία

Youth unemployment rates have increased, due to the great recession of 2008, in many developed and developing countries. While many young people have resisted the sluggish labor market outlook while continuing in tertiary education, others have moved away from education, training and employment. Vocational education and training (VET) is often seen as a solution to improve the opportunities for young people who lack the resources, skills or incentives to continue with higher levels of education. In addition, many argue that Vocational Education provides useful skills to prepare young people to enter the workforce and improve the chances of their successful professional careers. In particular, by aligning initial training closer to specific professions and tasks required in the labor market, the problem of mismatch, often seen as the main source of high unemployment in developing countries, may be reduced. However, VET programs vary considerably across countries around the world. It is therefore necessary that the management of vocational training organizations emphasizes the efficiency and effectiveness of pupils in order to facilitate their attendance and to integrate dynamically in the labor force of the country.
