Αξιοποίηση ως εκπαιδευτικής καινοτομίας του σχολικού λεοφωρείου σε φροντιστηριακές εκπαιδευτικές μονάδες πρωτοβάθμιας και δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης του πολεοδομικού συγκροτήματος Θεσσαλονίκης (Master thesis)

Providing a school bus for students’ transportation is a service that is often
supplied in private schools in Greece. However, in “frontistiria” (greek terminology -
private educational institutes that support students’ performance in school), is
extremely rare this service. The purpose of this research is to evaluate whether the use
of school bus from “frontistiria” in Thessaloniki can be considered as an educational
innovation and whether this service would affect parents in choosing a “frontistirio”,
which offers this service. The survey was conducted using questionnaires in a sample
of 120 parents, whose children attend either Primary or High Schools (including
Lyceums) in Thessaloniki. The sample was selected with the method of non-random
sampling (sample of convenience). The results’ analysis shows that a significant
majority of parents consider the service of a school-bus in Thessaloniki's
“frontistiria” as an educational innovation, which contributes in students’
performance. Moreover, it is highlighted, that most parents would choose to use
school-bus service and they would also choose a “frontistirio”, which includes this
service, as long as the cost is relevant to their financial status and meets certain
conditions of safety and comfort.

| Abstract: | Η χρήση του σχολικού λεωφορείου για τις μετακινήσεις των μαθητών είναι
μία πρακτική που ακολουθείται συστηματικά από τα ιδιωτικά σχολεία στην Ελλάδα.
Στα φροντιστήρια, όμως, είναι εξαιρετικά σπάνια αυτή η υπηρεσία. Σκοπός της
παρούσας έρευνας είναι να εξακριβώσει κατά πόσο η αξιοποίηση του σχολικού
λεωφορείου από φροντιστηριακές μονάδες μέσης εκπαίδευσης της Θεσσαλονίκης
θεωρείται εκπαιδευτική καινοτομία και κατά πόσο θα επηρέαζε τους γονείς στην
επιλογή φροντιστηριακού χώρου η παροχή μιας τέτοιου είδους υπηρεσίας
μετακίνησης των παιδιών τους. Η έρευνα πραγματοποιήθηκε μέσω ερωτηματολογίων
σε δείγμα από 120 γονείς παιδιών που φοιτούν σε Δημοτικά, Γυμνάσια και Λύκεια
του πολεοδομικού συγκροτήματος Θεσσαλονίκης. Το δείγμα επελέγη με τη μέθοδο
της μη τυχαίας δειγματοληψίας (δείγμα ευκολίας). Η ανάλυση των αποτελεσμάτων
της έρευνας καταδεικνύει ότι η συντριπτική πλειοψηφία των γονιών θεωρούν τη
χρήση σχολικού λεωφορείου στα φροντιστήρια της Θεσσαλονίκης μία εκπαιδευτική
καινοτομία που βελτιώνει την εκπαιδευτική πορεία των μαθητών. Επίσης,
υπογραμμίζεται ότι οι περισσότεροι γονείς θα επέλεγα να χρησιμοποιήσουν υπηρεσία
σχολικού λεωφορείου αλλά και τον φροντιστηριακό χώρο που παρέχει αυτήν την
υπηρεσία, εφόσον το κόστος είναι αντίστοιχο με το οικονομικό τους υπόβαθρο και
