In this thesis, an historical overview of the asparagus is first presented. The botanical description of the asparagus is then described in terms of its root system, followed by its varieties, hybrids and crosses. As crop requirements play a very important role, the present work analyzes soil cultivation and suitability as well as other requirements for growing asparagus, such as light, air, water. Some information is also given on its harvest, crop yields, irrigation and climatic conditions required for its propagation. It was also necessary to make a brief reference to the effects of asparagus on the body. After all, the basic body of work that deals first with all the insects that are enemies to the cultivation of asparagus is analyzed. Finally, it is necessary to analyze the diseases caused by pathogenic causes.
