Target: The purpose of this study is to extend the degree to which consumers, and in particular the citizens of the greater Thessaloniki area, are interested in nutrition labels and whether they read them properly and do not interfere with their level of formulation. This research focuses on women and men aged 18 and over. Method: The study was based on a sample of 800 individuals, men and women aged 18 and over, who are consumers of the greater Thessaloniki, Koufalia, Pella and Drama area. In particular, they were asked to answer 33 questions in which comparative analyzes of variables were performed.Statistical significance level was set at a = 0.05 while analyzes were performed using Excel and IBM SPSS Statistics 19. Results: People aged 31-45 seem to be more interested in reading basic nutrition label information than other ages. While we would say that the female gender was more willing to participate in the research than the male. Conclusions: In particular, we have observed in our research that the factors that influence the reading of labels are different between the sexes. While it is worth noting that the educational level of the individual sex significantly affects the understanding of the nutrition label. Based on their responses, we found that the higher a person's educational level, is the reason that helps to read the label.
