The topic of this thesis is to develop the role of Information Technology in the field of education and teaching and more specifically in Special Education, as well as the benefits derived from it. Initially, the role of special education in general education is explained, giving a historical reference from the past to the present as well as the particular development in recent years. Next, the development of Information Technology and its crucial importance in education are presented. Additionally, there are listed Supportive Information Technologies that are used as they please, and reference is made to specific examples of applications. Next, proposals are presented for the introduction of Information Technology in Special Education with the help of new technological material and the training of teachers for the use of Information Technology.
