The present work was carried out in the Kavala region and specifically in the village of Chrysochori in the cultivation of Prunus salicina 0.22 hectares of Friar variety. Its purpose was to count the population of the flourishing Grapholita funebrana the fruit’s attack, as well to combat it in a conventional and biological way for the cultivation of the Japanese plum (Prunus Salicina) of the Friar variety. Delta and Funel pheromone traps as well as the pheromone suitable for G. funebrana were used for counting thrips. To deal with G. funebrana the randomized complete set design was used, namely 4 applications with 4 repetitions. Thus the applications were zeolite (A), control (B), Bt (C) and the spirotetramat active ingredient (D). Each application consisted of 3 trees. Before and after each spraying, 80 fruits per group were harvested to show the efficacy of each preparation compared to the control. Measurements have shown that biological control with zeolite can have equal effects with the conventional method as it can be the most economical solution.
