The purpose of the present thesis is to record in detail the new data on the toxoplasmic disease. This disease is of high importance and the pathogen that causes the disease is the parasite Toxoplasma gondii. It is transmitted through the contact of productive animals with humans, while the transmission via contact with cats is a more common phenomenon. A particularly vulnerable group to the disease is that of pregnant women. In the past, there was a higher rate of infestation than today, due to the frequent preventive checks carried out. More specifically, the first part of the thesis attempts to describe the disease, that is, its history, the biological cycle of the disease i.e., the process by which a person is affected by the disease. Still, I consider as an important part, the symptomatology and the diagnosis of toxoplasmosis because they are all cleared up and shown in the laboratory checkup. In addition, treatment, prevention and of course, the connections with public health are the last and most important steps not only in this disease but in all of them. In the second part of my thesis, I present some of the incidents that were identified and then checked during my internship and I considered them important to make readers of this thesis aware of the disease’s importance. The presentation of the incidents is accompanied by some relevant photos. It is proposed, that a special focus must be given to citizens’ hygiene measures, while the competent municipal authorities should take care on a more regular basis to maintain cleanliness in public places.
