Πρόληψη των πτώσεων στην τρίτη ηλικία (Bachelor thesis)
Γατίδου, Χριστίνα
One of the most significant problems accompanying ageing is the phenomenon of falls. Falls are the main cause of morbidity worldwide and the second biggest cause of death due to injury. As the population is ageing and the life expectancy increases, falls will be
an increasing problem of the public health. It has been proved that dancing has several benefits for health and especially for vulnerable groups such as the old age. As it is the most popular form of physical activity among old people, previous studies have shown that its influence on this population can improve balance, their way of walking and the muscular performance with an ultimate goal to prevent and reduce falls.
