The beginning of the 21st century is marked by rapid developments in technology. Increasingly, there are tourism companies that are directly and indirectly involved with the tourism industry and whose main purpose is the best possible processing of all information provided on the Internet. It is now impossible for the tourism industry to operate without the necessary internet support. Based on research results, travel is one of the most popular searches by internet users. The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of Reservation systems on the process of booking and issuing air tickets for the user today. Initially there will be a presentation on the complex structure of the tourism industry which has contributed greatly to the creation and development of the various booking systems. Following is a report on the diachronic progress of Reservation System and Global Distribution System (GDS) as well of the evolution of Computer Reservation Systems (CRSs), into a Global Distribution System (GDS) presenting their basic characteristics. Finally, we will examine the changes brought about by the adoption of the Internet in the process of distribution of tourist services, focusing on the role in operation and the benefits that tourists derive from using these systems and their level of satisfaction.
