This diploma thesis titled "Evolution of Information Systems in the Business Area" was created with the aim of theoretical analysis of Information Systems and their contribution to the business sector of a society. The work begins with a suggestion in the world of Information Systems and becomes a reference to the basic concepts and the main elements that characterize them. Subsequently, the work presents the definition and the parts of an Information System. Below, the dissertation provides the reader with information about the historical path and evolution of Information Systems in the past, but also their position in the present and the future. Also, this text records the activities and the categories of Information Systems on the one hand. Additionally, the paper records the levels of Information Systems. Then, the author of the work refers to the parts of the Information Systems and separates them from each other. Additionally, the author of the dissertation does not forget the types of Information Systems. Then, the work reports business disciplines using Information Systems. Finally, the dissertation presents a survey on the use of Information Systems in a local community, and statisticalises the results of the questionnaire used for this research to draw some conclusions on the use of Information Systems in the field of business.
