The purpose of this paper is to research and analyze the large effect artificial intelligence technology is having on the economy. More specifically we examine the history of the economy and the big technological leaps that changed its course as a whole during the time of its conception until the time of birth of the AI technology. We research the background of AI’s history while also analyzing the way the technology works. In the main part of this paper, we specifically examine the correlation and reactions between AI and the economy in labor, economic growth and productivity. However, we also research the role that organizations and businesses are now playing in this ever-changing environment in regards to their management and marketing strategies. In conclusion we take a look at the policies and regulations surrounding the technology and what the future holds for both AI and the economy.
