The use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the field of career guidance is responsible for changes in the services provided, which in turn bring about changes and adaptations in the education and training of career counsellors. The main responsibility of a professional guidance consultant is still the quality of the counselling service offered, irrespective of the means or techniques that are appropriate and/or used. The incorporation of ICT in career guidance does not imply automatic and excellent quality of consulting services, but a modern and successful implementation includes and mainly utilizes new technologies, offering flexibility, efficiency, immediacy and diversity to as many as possible. The international bibliography mainly focuses on the attitudes and perceptions of career counsellors regarding the integration of ICT in the counselling process. The absence of a corresponding study on the part of the consulting-Greek pupils was obvious and was the first impetus for conducting this research. This research focuses on the relationship between ICT and the professional counselling process. The research problem is the use of information and communication technologies as a means of supporting the counselling process for vocational guidance for students in school units in the prefecture of Ioannina. The aim of the research is to study the attitudes and opinions of the consulting/pupils regarding the incorporation of the ICT in the professional counselling process provided by the Centers of educational and counselling support (specifically the Center of Ioannina) with the aim to understand how counselling is carried out using ICT, presenting the tools to be implemented, clarifying the services provided and offering new technologies to Areas of self-exploration and knowledge, information provision for studies and professions and support in making a professional decision so that the advisory process is led to a successful outcome.
