The evolution of information and communication technologies has led to the widespread use of computers and Internet in everyday people’s life. This rapid growth in recent years has also affected the tourist sector both in terms of demand and supply. As a result, consumers/travelers are increasingly turning to modern forms of search for information for their travel needs, and businesses that are engaged in the tourism industry are adapting their strategic and business approaches to these new standards. Ιn this context of the growing influence of social networks on interpersonal communication and the importance of online feedback and the exchange of experiences in tourism, this study will seek to explore consumer behaviour using primary data on customers’ preferences in social media making a distinction between type of travel, depending on whether travelling is for business or for pleasure. Finally, the multiple regression model will help us to identify the factors that affect customers’ overall satisfaction with respect to social media. Using a sample of 81 people, the results show that individual behavior varies according to the nature of the journey. People are more likely to use social media to capture their experiences in the case of a leisure trip instead of a business trip. Finally, the multiple linear regression model has identified as important factors of users’overall satisfaction from social media in relation to tourism, the ease of use, the quality of information, and the level of online help.
