Διοίκηση Ολιγοθέσιων εκπαιδευτικών μονάδων δυσπρόσιτων και ακριτικών περιοχών-Απόψεις των Εκπαιδευτικών Πρωτοβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης (Master thesis)

Multigrade schools have always been an integral part of the Greek educational system. In remote regions as well as in the Greek border area there are several multigrade schools whose operation in the future is considered a given despite them constantly being reduced due to the specificities of the Greek geographical areas. They are schools with special requirements and needs. At times the educational services provided in these schools in remote areas have been expanded. It is deemed necessary, through this paper, to attempt an approach of the field concerning the administration of these schools, trying to provide an incisive analysis of their administrative specificities. In our research we conducted ten semi-structured interviews with primary education teachers who have consecutively worked in remote multigrade schools of the country. The results of the research indicate the requirements and the particularities of the administration and also identify the challenges in exercising the organizational and administrative tasks of these schools. In addition, the results reflect the educational profile of the teachers and determine the level of cooperation and motivation between them as well as their interaction with the external environment and its participation in the administrative operation. We hope the results of this survey prove useful for teachers serving in multigrade schools and also for anyone attempting a similar approach in this specific research domain.
