Ο ρόλος της εκπαίδευσης στη διαμόρφωση του σύγχρονου τουριστικού προϊόντος (Bachelor thesis)
Μπεκιάρη, Ελένη
The course of development and organization of hospitality services in Greece is parallel to the course of development of the Greek state itself. Tourism is a global social and economic phenomenon that, despite the economic downturn, is infinitely expanding, generating income, jobs and investment. In Greece, despite the existence of significant competitive advantages, the main motivation of the trip remains the "sun and sea" diptych, composing a tourist product typical of "Mediterranean", strongly seasonal, undifferentiated, significantly dependent on tour operators
The importance of tourism education is indisputable for the smooth and profitable operation of the tourism industry at international level. Countries whose economy relies on tourism have placed particular emphasis on the development of appropriate tourism infrastructure and education systems. Tourist education in Greece is provided in 3 levels of study: secondary, post-secondary and tertiary. Modern tourism education must be approached as a set of theoretical and empirical knowledge and skills required by the needs of the tourism sector for more efficient human resources.
