The purpose of this thesis was to investigate whether the modern teacher's professionalism and his/her perception of school culture are related to the effectiveness of the educational unit. To achieve this goal, a quantitative research was conducted with an 8-question questionnaire, which was answered by 223 teachers. The analysis of the data revealed that the majority of teachers consciously chose this profession, considering it as a function. They believe in the need for continuous education and training, while identifying quality with the effectiveness of the educational unit. For school research teachers, school culture means safety, stability, a good climate, and a shared vision of all involved. Despite any differences in demographic and individual characteristics, teachers' responses show similar percentages to the questions.

| Abstract: | Σκοπός της παρούσας διπλωματικής εργασίας ήταν να διερευνηθεί κατά πόσο ο επαγγελματισμός του σύγχρονου εκπαιδευτικού και η αντίληψή του για την κουλτούρα του σχολείου συσχετίζονται με την αποτελεσματικότητα της σχολικής μονάδας. Για την επίτευξη αυτού του σκοπού διενεργήθηκε ποσοτική έρευνα με ερωτηματολόγιο 8 ερωτήσεων, το οποίο απαντήθηκε από 223 εκπαιδευτικούς. Από την ανάλυση των δεδομένων διαπιστώθηκε ότι η πλειοψηφία των εκπαιδευτικών συνειδητά επέλεξε το συγκεκριμένο επάγγελμα, θεωρώντας το μάλιστα λειτούργημα. Πιστεύουν στην αναγκαιότητα διαρκούς επιμόρφωσης και κατάρτισής τους, ενώ ταυτίζουν την ποιότητα με την αποτελεσματικότητα της εκπαιδευτικής μονάδας. Για τους εκπαιδευτικούς της έρευνας κουλτούρα του σχολείου σημαίνει ασφάλεια, σταθερότητα, καλό κλίμα και κοινό όραμα όλων των εμπλεκομένων σε αυτό. Παρά τις όποιες διαφορές σε δημογραφικά και ατομικά χαρακτηριστικά, οι απαντήσεις των εκπαιδευτικών παρουσιάζουν παρόμοια ποσοστά στις ερωτήσεις.
