The purpose of this thesis was to investigate whether the modern teacher's professionalism and his/her perception of school culture are related to the effectiveness of the educational unit. To achieve this goal, a quantitative research was conducted with an 8-question questionnaire, which was answered by 223 teachers. The analysis of the data revealed that the majority of teachers consciously chose this profession, considering it as a function. They believe in the need for continuous education and training, while identifying quality with the effectiveness of the educational unit. For school research teachers, school culture means safety, stability, a good climate, and a shared vision of all involved. Despite any differences in demographic and individual characteristics, teachers' responses show similar percentages to the questions.
