Τα ειδικά εφέ του μακιγιάζ στην ιστορία του δυτικού κινηματογράφου (Bachelor thesis)
Κήτα, Βασιλική-Γιολάντα
This paper is a retrospect of special make up effects throughout the West culture
cinema (the cinema of West European countries, North America and their former
colonies, like Australia). It is structured chronologically and each chapter consists of
four sections.
The first section in each chapter (simply) names the pioneering special effects
makeup artists of each era, along with the innovations they launched.
The second section is a selected mention of greatly important films of each
era, which are considered either technically groundbreaking or giving prominence to
special effects makeup otherwise, e.g. by creating a new trend.
The third section in each chapter examines either a creative trend or a film
genre or a certain development in each era that has affected not only the special
effects make up world but the history of cinema itself.
The fourth section is about techniques and materials that had been considered
revolutionary when first appeared, as well as the difference they made in the course of
the special effects makeup profession.
