Η συμβολή των επικοινωνιακών δεξιοτήτων στην οργάνωση μιας σχολικής μονάδας της Κοζάνης (Bachelor thesis)

This research seeks to explore the opinions of the teachers of the region of Kozani on the contribution of the principal’s and teachers’ communicative skills to the organization of the school units in Kozani. The method of quantitative data analysis was applied along with a questionnaire which was distributed to one hundred seventy (170) teachers and principals by random sampling. A pilot questionnaire was initially submitted to twenty-five (25) principals and teachers in order to assist in the formulation of the final questionnaire. After collecting and analyzing the data, it was found that the principals and teachers involved in the research considered communication to be important because they believed that it contributed to the effectiveness of the school unit. It was shown that the participants of the research, principals and teachers, collaborate and communicate with each other to provide organized and effective information among the primary schools in the region of Kozani. The research also found out that participants' opinions differentiated, consisting of various and in some cases different views depending on their gender, age, overall educational background and position of responsibility. What constitutes an important weakness that impedes efficiency and communication, is the large number of documents and circulations as well as the complexity that they often present. This affects the communication inside the school unit negatively. Moreover, this research seeks to raise the awareness of the relevant educational policy makers. They may be able to move towards an institutional framework which is based on decentralized education and will provide more opportunities and possibilities for the educational unit to implement an integrated education policy.
