The present study deals with the profile of caregivers of dementia patients using the services of the Thessaloniki Psychiatric Hospital. It attempts to detect and record the type of burden they are suffering from, as well as their views on a number of issues related to the care of dementia patients.
Terms such as "care", "care burden" and "caregiver" are first examined and analyzed. Then there is a brief reference to Alzheimer's disease and research that has been done from time to time to look at the care givers burden due to the care they provide. The study concludes by recording the suggestions made by caregivers to make their work easier ease the burden they are experiencing.
