The subject of this thesis was the examination of destructive and non-destructive methods in an existing structure for the determination of the strength of the concrete. In recent years, the need for control as well as for the design and execution of interventions (either repair or reinforcement or a combination of both) is often presented in an existing structure. The study is developed in three chapters. The first chapter presents the wear as well as the durability assessment of the concrete over time and the destructive and non-destructive methods of valuation of the constructions. In the second chapter we record the process of investigating the strength of concrete by combining non-destructive methods and tests of compression in cylindrical specimens. The third chapter analyzes the ways of restoring the existing construction.
