The purpose of this work is to study the body image and external appearance as they evolve in modern societies as well as the effects and impact on their mental balance, social life and environment. The study tries to identify the needs that drive people to diversify their characteristics and whether they are considered real and necessary or whether they are the result of social norms and a phenomenon of the modern era, which they want to deal constantly with his external appearance and his desire to improve it. People who undergo cosmetic
interventions, in large part, appear to be making such a decision in order to better adapt to their personal and environmental requirements. The second part of the work refers to the ways they can apply to these people who seek to successfully improve their body image.

| Abstract: | Ο σκοπός της παρούσας εργασίας, είναι η μελέτη της εικόνας του σώματος και της εξωτερικής εμφάνισης όπως εξελίσσονται στις σύγχρονες κοινωνίες καθώς και τις επιδράσεις και τον αντίκτυπο στην ψυχική τους ισορροπία, την κοινωνική ζωή και το περιβάλλον τους. Η μελέτη προσπαθεί να εντοπίσει τις ανάγκες που ωθούν τους ανθρώπους στην διαφοροποίηση των χαρακτηριστικών τους και το
κατά πόσο αυτές θεωρούνται πραγματικές και αναγκαίες ή εάν είναι αποτέλεσμα κοινωνικών κανόνων και φαινομένου της σύγχρονης εποχής, που θέλει τον άνθρωπο να ασχολείται διαρκώς με την εξωτερική του εμφάνιση και με την επιθυμία του για τη βελτίωση αυτής. Τα άτομα που υποβάλλονται σε αισθητικές
παρεμβάσεις, σε μεγάλο ποσοστό φαίνεται ότι προχωρούν σε τέτοια απόφαση προκειμένου να προσαρμοστούν καλύτερα στις προσωπικές τους καθώς και στις περιβαλλοντικές απαιτήσεις. Εν κατακλείδι, σημασία έχει η αναζήτηση των κατάλληλων αισθητικών παρεμβάσεων για την εξατομικευμένη βελτίωση της εικόνας του σώματος του ατόμου και της εξωτερικής εμφάνισής του.
