Σχολική ηγεσία και ένταξη προσφυγικών πληθυσμών στην Ελλάδα: ο ρόλος του ηγέτη/προϊσταμένου στην περίπτωση της προσχολικής αγωγής (Master thesis)

Refugee’s right to inclusion is indisputable. The process of inclusion, however, includes an amount of processes which school headmasters/leaders must tackle with. It is in their role to handle refugee students’ integration. Especially when there are arguments in local community for refugees’ integration, as it happens in Greece now, their role is more critical. Consequently, this study examines if school headmasters/leaders believe in inclusion advantages. Therefore, it studies their attitudes and beliefs into: refugees, inclusion of refugees in typical classrooms as well as their capabilities in teaching in multicultural settings. Results indicate that school headmasters/leaders show an empathy on refugees, they are positive in the inclusion of refugee students into Greek typical educational system, but they have concerns on their competence into providing that multicultural inclusion. Results can be used of policy makers into designing appropriate educational seminars for school headmasters/leaders training.
