Κύρκου, Άννα

The labor relations that are developed between medical and nursing staff within a hospital are a matter of major importance for the proper functioning of the hospital and the enhancement of the employee satisfaction. The purpose of this study is to investigate the management of human resources in the health sector. In particular, the aim is to examine the relations between medical and nursing staff from the nurses' point of view. The research highlighted different aspects of the labor relations between nurses and doctors. Communication and collaboration between the two specialties is frequent and is favorably evaluated by the majority of participants, while conflicts do not appear to be very frequent. At the same time, there is a relatively high level of satisfaction among nurses for their work and relationships with other staff, and patient-physician relationships are positively evaluated. Of course, there is scope for improving the working climate between medical and nursing staff with the aim of eliminating conflicts as much as possible.
