Φυσικοθεραπευτική παρέμβαση σε πλήρη διατομή νωτιαίου μυελού στο επίπεδο Θ7 -8 -9 (Bachelor thesis)
Χατζηαθανασίου, Στεφανία
The aim of this study is to highlight the importance of rehabilitation in individuals with a complete spinal cord cross-section and to arrive at an informed rehabilitation program. The complete cross-
section of the spinal cord at the height of T7-8-9 has extensive consequences for many bodily functions, including bladder, intestinal, respiratory, cardiovascular and sexual function. These
patients require not only initial medical care and rehabilitation, but also constant wheelchair access to different environments and the appropriate provision of home care, equipment, transportation,
employment and financial support. Specifically, the study attempts to determine, through the literature, where they were used Greek and foreign language books and articles from official
databases such as Pubmed and Google Scholar on the subject were used. Restoration of gait consistently has the highest priority position for people with spinal cord injuries. Research in gait
retraining began in the 1990s, with the significant discovery in adult mammals with full spinal cord cross-section that they can produce gait-supported gait movements if trained intensively on a floor
ergometer. Rehabilitation mechanisms are based on three overlapping factors: the acquisition and evolution of basic reciprocal motor synergies, the acquisition of balance during the propulsive
movement, and the behavioral adaptation to external constraints and the achievement of goals each
time.
