Many studies in the past have discussed the issue of patient satisfaction. This fact proves the importance of the study.
The aim of the research is to record the degree of patient satisfaction with the services provided in a public primary structure on the island of Thassos, as well as its correlation with various demographic variables. The individual objectives of the research include the comparison of the services provided with reference to the specialty of the employees of the Health Center (medical, nursing, administrative staff). An additional aim is to identify patients needs for service and overall experience and to propose solutions to potential problems.
The study population consisted of 100 patients who visited Thassos Health Center during February-April 2020. Regarding the method of selecting participants in the study, a sampling was performed, given the need th collection of subjects with the least possible time and financial resources. , in order to achieve the target population in time. A total of 105 questionnaires were distributed and 100 of them were fully completed (95% response rate).
The research tool used in this study was adopted by a corresponding study (Lianou et al. 2018) where the license for its use was requested and obtained. The questionnaire included a total of 4 sections with 42 closed-end questions. The first section was on demographic questions, the second on satisfaction and was divided into 4 sub-sections on patient satisfaction from the outpatients department and administrative staff. The third section assessed their overall satisfaction with the services provided and the 4th of possible future visits, in case of need. The scales used were in Likert format with a rating from positive to negative.
According to the results of the present study, the population of the sample showed a high level of satisfaction with care services provided. There was also a high level of satisfaction with the individual services provided by medical, nursing and administrative staff, as well as the quality of the infrastructure. Also, a positive attitude towards the proposal of the health structure to their friendly or close-related environment, was expressed.
