Osteoarthritis is a complex, heterogeneous condition with regard to its symptoms. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) on it. Medline databases (via PubMed), Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL, the Cochrane Library), Pedro (Physiotherapy Evidence Database) and Science Direct were searched using keywords, osteoarthritis, physiotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, depression , insomnia, sleep disorder, chronic pain, to find all published randomized clinical trials that had the type of CBT treatment and patients were adults diagnosed with osteoarthritis. 4 studies met the criteria for entry into the study, which showed that the CBT is more effective than other intervention groups in terms of pain, general health and functionality, sensitivity, emotional state, depression, sleep disorders, and the sense of self-efficacy.
