Ensuring the protection of patients in hospitals, but also in the wider health sector has been the subject of global interest in recent years and is considered a fundamental principle in achieving a high level of quality in health care and welfare. The same applies to the accompanying / informal caregivers of patients whose care operates in addition to the care provided by the "standard" caregivers, but also to the staff of the organization. In this respect, any program aimed at improving the quality of health services provided in an organization, should include both the safety of the patient and his companion and his staff as an integral part of his policies and strategy. The purpose of this paper is to investigate and analyze the issue of providing security to patients, attendants and staff of health and welfare units in Greece and internationally. The case study concerns the Mamatsio Hospital of Kozani. The writing in a first stage, was based on recent domestic and international scientific literature, and reports were collected from online sources from both Greek and international highly certified organizations. Quantitative research was then used using two questionnaires, the answers to which were subject to statistical manipulation and analysis and related to the specific case study. The results showed an overall positive trend of the respondents of both target groups (staff, patients/attendants) in terms of the level of safety provided by "Mamatsio" General Hospital of Kozani with positive response rates sometimes approaching 2/3 of the participants and sometimes exceed them, while the negative response rates ranged at levels not exceeding 12%-13%, with single-digit values in many of the individual questions. Finally, a percentage of 13% -15% of respondents described the level of safety of the Hospital as "moderate" and gives the impetus for further strengthening and improving the safety provided in all areas investigated in this study.
